T.G.I.F.

Thank Goodness It's Friday!! :)  We had a fun filled Friday today with our 1st class store and learning about how to find the area and perimeter of all triangles, parallelograms, and rectangles.  We also made our costumes for our big debate on Monday...Who REALLY discovered America?
Here is the homework:
1) No math homework tonight!
2) Read 20 minutes
3) Write down your total number of minutes read throughout the week and have a parent sign it
4) I am still missing a few Math Intervention permission slips. Please get those in on Monday!
5) Hero of the week: Trevon- make sure you bring in a poster all about you :)
6) President Report: Breanne and London- next week your poster and speech are due...we're excited to hear all about your presidents!
Upcoming Events:
*IB Open House: Tuesday, October 4th at 6:30 p.m. Here is some information on that:

-First 30 minutes: Each grade teacher will begin with a 30 minute presentation on the student portfolios, the 6 IB units, and our current IB unit (*note that some teachers may be combining in a room.  If a teacher you are looking for is not in her room during this first part, you can get the same information from another teacher in that grade level).  If you have multiple children at the elementary school, just choose one class for this overview.

-Second 30 minutes: Open house.  If you have other children at the school, visit other classrooms to look at their binders, etc.  Note that Kindergarten will be doing their IB open house another night.

*Start planning those Halloween costumes, because not only do the kids get to dress up this year, they get to do a parade over to the Jr. High! :)
